Keyboard Shortcuts

Here I will point out different keyboard shortcuts to enable you to perform tasks more efficiently and more quickly by using two keys to perform the action rather than usually a mouse gesture. Make Windows perform tasks quicker by using shortcut keys so you get more done in less time. These shortcuts work on versions of the Windows Operating System including XP, Vista and the latest release 7, both 32bit and 64bit versions.

Windows Key – Start Menu

Windows Key + Pause – System Properties

Windows Key + F - Search

Windows Key + M – Minimise Windows

Windows key + R – Run Box

Control + A – Select All

Control + C – Copy

Control + V – Paste

Control + P – Print

Control + Z – Undo

Control + B – Bold

Control + U – Underline

Control + I – Italicise

Windows key + Pause/break – system properties

Alt + F4 – Close program or when no applications are running this combination will bring up the shutdown/restart/log off screen

Alt + 167 – º – degrees symbol

Space Bar – Click Selected Item or Link

End – Go to end line or sentence in webpage

Insert – Toggle between overwriting text mode, word

Tab – Switch between form fields

F5 – Refresh Current Page

Control + F5 – Refresh current webpage with no cache
